Eric Burdon and the Animals were Bluesier than the Stones, and rocked harder than the Troggs. They also had and eye for the good times and also the future - without Chas Chandler we wouldn't have had Jimi Hendrix or The Arena in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK). Burdon himself is, and always has been, a consumate biker apart from a short period in the nineties. He is supposed to have spent the late sixties shaking up the desert around Palm Springs with his good friend the late Steve McQeen. However I have failed to find mention of his name or presence in any of the McQueen biographies currently available.
